Hilton Bogotá and Its Commitment to Sustainability and Social Responsibility
Hilton Bogotá boasts a team of 175 members dedicated to making guests feel at home, standing out for their keen attention to detail. Agustín Maddocks, the hotel’s general manager, highlights these values and attributes as key reasons for choosing it as a top lodging option in the capital.
With over 12 years of service, Hilton Bogotá has established itself as a hospitality benchmark in the city’s financial district, recognized for its warm human touch, high-quality service, and modern spaces for both social and corporate events.
Beyond its service offerings, the hotel leads a series of initiatives worth highlighting due to their positive impact on sustainability and community well-being.
One of its key programs is “More Means Más”, which aims to cut the hotel’s environmental footprint in half while doubling its social impact through outreach efforts to vulnerable communities.
As part of this initiative, Hilton Bogotá provides three options for those hosting events at its facilities: a carbon-neutral event, a wellness, leisure, or gastronomic activity, or a donation of 3% of the event’s cost to nonprofit organizations.
Regarding the carbon-neutral option, companies that choose Hilton Bogotá for their events receive a digital certificate demonstrating their commitment to decarbonization—an initiative highly valued by businesses focused on sustainability.
To support this effort, the hotel employs the LightStay tool to measure its carbon footprint, using two questionnaires to calculate carbon emissions for both events and daily operations.
On the social responsibility front, Hilton Bogotá actively supports and partners with nonprofit organizations, including “Ariel Cura para el Alma,” “Fundación Esteban Chaves,” and “Club de Leones,” to which it donates 3% of event proceeds.
Additionally, the hotel fosters strong community connections. A prime example is the urban garden on its premises, maintained by farmers from the rural El Orejón area, whose produce is purchased directly by the hotel. Another initiative includes partnerships with women seamstresses working with “La Tienda de la Empatía”.
Today, Hilton Bogotá is not only an example of outstanding service but also a model of circular economy, setting a high standard for other hotels across the continent.
As its general manager puts it:
“Hilton Bogotá is a winning hotel—it wins everything it plays, and it does so in the best possible way.”
