Edgar Ramírez, Executive Director of BNI Mexico: A Collaboration Model Brought to the Legal World

Democratizing access to top-tier legal services, no matter where you are in the world, is the driving force behind WILL—the Worldwide Independent Lawyer League. This initiative connects BNI-member lawyers through a collaborative system, allowing users to access legal advice seamlessly.

The idea was born from a specialized insurance lawyer who found himself stranded without legal assistance after an incident in Turkey. This experience led to the creation of a global community of lawyers.

In a conversation with Tierra Querida, Edgar Ramírez, Executive Director of BNI Mexico and a member for 14 years, shared how the concept took shape during the 2017 BNI Convention in Thailand. “Legal services are often inaccessible, especially when you’re in a foreign country. This initiative allows me to expand my profession, and witnessing lawyers collaborate in this way is extraordinary,” he said.

“Everything in today’s world has a transactional value, and capitalism has monetized even basic principles like solidarity. BNI transforms the way business is done globally,” he added.

His lifelong dream of becoming a diplomat is now a reality, thanks to BNI and WILL, which has named him its ambassador for the region.
